FEKO: Relation of Voltage, Current, Load, Reflection Coefficient at port

 V: Voltage at port
 ZL: Load at port
 Z0: Reference Impedance(Characteristic Impedance)

 I: Current at port  (one port)
 I1: Current at port1 (two ports)
 I2: Current at port2 (two ports)
 Zin: antenna Input Impedance
 S11:Reflection Coefficient at port
 ZS: Source Impedance(=Z0)


 Zin=V/I-ZL-ZS
 S11=(ZL+Zin-Z0)/(ZL+Zin+Z0)
 Symmetric two port network:
 S21=S12=-(1 - S11)*I2/I1


Example1: one port
frequency=75E6(Hertz), half-wavelength dipole, ZS=Z0=50(Ohm), ZL=81.9004-j46.3553(Ohm), V=1(Volt), Segment length=0.01(m), Wire segment radius=0.001(m)

Result solved by FEKO
I= 4.67725191*10^-03 + j*2.32167091*10^-10(Ampere)
S11=5.32274783*10^-01 - j*2.32167103*10^-08


Verify  Zin=V/I-ZS-ZL=81.9004+j46.3553(Ohm), S11=(ZL+Zin-Z0)/(ZL+Zin+Z0)

 

Example2: two ports
frequency=75E6(Hertz), two identical half-wavelength dipole, spacing=lambda/2, ZS=Z0=50(Ohm), ZL=0, V1=1(Volt), Segment length=0.1(m),  Wire segment radius=0.01(m)

Result solved by FEKO
I1 = 7.05323089*10^-03 + j*-2.12397124*10^-03(Ampere)
I2 = -2.63709167* 10^-04 + j*-2.68102041*10^-04(Ampere)
S12 = 2.63709165*10^-02 + j*2.68102027*10^-02
S22 = 2.94676900*10^-01 + j*2.12397128*10^-01

Verify  S11=(ZL+Zin-Z0)/(ZL+Zin+Z0) and S21=S12=-(1 - S11)*I2/I1
