This scanning electron microscopy image represents an inorganic but vivid silica SUNFLOWER prepared by microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (MPECVD) in a stainless vacuum chamber. This SEM picture has won the first prize in the AVS 54th International Symposium and Exhibition-Art Contest, Seattle, Washington, USA, Oct. 14-19, 2007.
