这是IEEE Signal Processing Society主办的会议，从1994年开始ICIP基本是每年召开一次，ICMA 2010已是17届，每年会议均被EI、ISTP收录，每年的会议论文会选择部分论文到SCI收录期刊发表。
2008年15届ICIP会议被EI收录808篇、其中美国265篇、中国98篇、法国61篇、日本38篇、加拿大37篇、德国34篇、西班牙28篇、韩国26篇等。
